You Should Not Miss These 3 Gold Coast Festivals

August 15, 2022

Do you want to be in the heart of all the activities on the Gold Coast? Consequently, you should always prepare for your trip and book the best Gold Coast accommodation.

The upscale Broadbeach neighbourhood, in the centre of the energetic Gold Coast, is home to the Aruba Beach Resort. Their Gold Coast Holiday Apartments provide roomy living spaces, fully functional kitchens, and private balconies, making them ideal for gatherings with friends and family. The resort also features fantastic amenities where you can unwind with a long, soothing soak in our heated spa or take a refreshing plunge at any time in the resort’s stunning swimming pool.

Another excellent advantage is the resort’s proximity to a bus station that provides rapid access to all amusement parks. You can get from the northern areas of the Gold Coast to Surfers Paradise and the rest of the Gold Coast by taking the short walk to the Gold Coast light rail system.

All that is left to know are the events you can attend in 2022.

Gold Coast Show

The 2022 Gold Coast Show is the first on the list. The three-day, community-driven event, currently in its 115th show, includes contests, demonstrations, and displays. Of course, there will also be free live music, rides for the whole family, a carnival-like atmosphere, and the famed Gold Coast fireworks.

The Show typically takes place over a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the last week of August or the first week of September. The Friday before Thanksgiving is a public holiday in the City dubbed “Peoples Day.” So be ready because the event draws about 120,000 people.

Since its founding in 1906, the Gold Coast Show has called several places home. But as of 2018, Broadwater Parkland continues to be their home. The 2022 Gold Coast Show will take place from August 26 to 28.

20th SWELL Sculpture Festival

The largest outdoor sculpture display in Gold Coast Queensland, SWELL Sculpture Festival, is returning from September 9 to September 18. The Gold Coast’s Currumbin hosts the main exhibition. Enjoy more than 70 impressive large-scale sculptures on the seashore.

Additionally, visit the Gold Coast’s pop-up exhibitions, such as the easterlySWELL at Chevron Island, the industrialSWELL at The Boatworks in Coomera, and the northerlySWELL in Helensvale.

Additionally, take in the cultural programs at SWELL Fringe in Wallace Nicoll Park, Currumbin, and SWELL Smalls Gallery on the beach. You can also see the breathtaking sculptures created by local, national, and worldwide artists.

Spend a bit more time exploring the various unique experiences available, including masterclasses, guided twilight tours around the artworks, live music, comedy, speeches by artists adjacent to the sculptures, and artist-led workshops.
